Lake Placid is a horror-comedy film centered around a massive, prehistoric crocodile that terrorizes a small town in Maine. The story begins when a diver is found dead in a lake, and a group of experts—led by paleontologist Kelly Scott (Bridget Fonda), wildlife hunter Jack Wells (Bill Pullman), and eccentric millionaire Hector Cyr (Oliver Platt)—is called in to investigate.
